Community Preschool at Lakewood is a 5-star preschool, providing high quality child care and education for infants (6 weeks of age) to PreK. Community Preschool utilizes The Creative Curriculum™, a North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education approved and developmentally appropriate curriculum. This provides young children with an educational curriculum that focuses on the use of meaningful, hands-on, concrete activities. Teachers are facilitators, allowing children to make choices and to learn from their interactions with their environment. The classroom environment is designed to encourage children to freely play, explore, experiment, and create. By using developmentally appropriate toys and games, while emphasizing an integrated curriculum, children are able to expand their cognitive development.
